Refund & Returns Policy for Salt & Sawdust Pty Ltd
1. Overview We take great pride in our craftsmanship. Because our items are handcrafted in the Western Cape, we want to ensure you are completely satisfied with your purchase.
2. Custom-Made & Bespoke Orders In accordance with the South African Consumer Protection Act, please note:

No Returns on Custom Orders: Any furniture or item that has been custom-built, sized, or modified to your specific requirements cannot be returned or refunded if you change your mind.

Design Approval: For large projects, we require client approval on final drawings/specifications before production begins. Once production starts, the deposit is non-refundable.
3. Standard (Stock) Items For non-custom items purchased directly from our Shopify store:

You have 7 days from the date of delivery to notify us of your intent to return the item.

To be eligible, the item must be unused, in the same condition you received it, and in its original packaging.

Return Shipping: The customer is responsible for the cost and arrangement of shipping the item back to our workshop at Unit 17, Maxi Mini Warehouses, 01 Rumboll St, George Park, Strand, Cape Town, Western Cape, 7140.
4. Defective or Damaged Goods If an item arrives damaged or has a structural manufacturing defect:

Please notify us within 24 hours of delivery with photos of the damage.

We will arrange to repair the item, replace it, or offer a full refund (including shipping) at our discretion, provided the damage was not caused by misuse or incorrect aftercare.

Note: Wood is a natural product. Minor grain variations, knots, or slight "movement" due to humidity are natural characteristics and are not considered defects.
5. Refunds Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. Approved refunds will be processed via the original payment method (e.g., PayFast or EFT) within 7–10 working days.
6. Non-Returnable Items

Gift cards.

Items on clearance/sale.

Items damaged through "wear and tear" or lack of proper wood maintenance (e.g., leaving indoor furniture in direct South African sun or rain).
